Team and roles
An account can have several members. Each has one role.
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Viewer | Browse archives, possibly limited to named mailboxes |
| Auditor | Everything a Viewer can, plus read and export the audit log |
| Admin | Everything an Auditor can, plus connections, jobs, exports, licences and settings |
| Owner | Everything an Admin can, plus manage owners and delete the account |
An account always keeps at least one Owner. Only an Owner can grant or remove the Owner role.
Inviting someone
Under Settings, in the team section, enter the person's email address and a role. Mailgestor emails them a link that works once. If the account's email is not configured, the link is shown to you to pass on. When they accept, they choose a password and join the account.
Limiting a Viewer to mailboxes
When inviting a Viewer, or afterwards from the team list, choose the mailboxes they may see. A Viewer with a mailbox list browses only those mailboxes and can export only from them. Leave the list empty for all mailboxes.
Changing roles and removing members
From the team list, change a member's role or remove them. Removing a member ends their access at once; what they did stays in the audit log.
The audit log
The Log page lists every meaningful action in the account: sign-ins, connections added and removed, jobs created, started and cancelled, message bodies read, downloads, licence purchases and refunds. Filter by action, by the kind and id of the thing acted on, and by date, and download it as CSV. Auditors and above can read it.
